A team of experienced professionals who have worked together for twenty years on Thursday morning and consult with families about their unique situations from a narrative perspective. Narrative therapy seeks to be respectful, non-blaming approach to working with individuals and families. The team creates a sense that people are experts in their own lives. Problems are viewed as separate from people and assumes that people have many skills, competencies, beliefs, values, commitments and abilities that will be useful as they make changes in their relationship with problems in their life. Curiosity and a willingness to ask questions to which we genuinely don’t know the answers are important principles of this work. Narrative therapy explores what is meant by the “narratives” or stories of our lives and highlights the narrative thread that weaves the events together, forming a story.
